Hello golfers,

 

Can you believe it's only 4 weeks till the Masters. During the morning on Wednesday the weather changed for the worse and this was the screen at 10am, and by 2pm it was like another hemisphere as the scene chnaged dramatically:

Unfortunately the course was closed yesterday and still is today, but please don't start twitching about the lack of playing opportunities. We are digging plugged range balls out daily to make sure you can come to the club and have a swing! 

As mentioned earlier the Masters will soon be starting and whilst this event is wonderful in every respect, one of the lasting impressions it gives us is the importance of good putting.

I fully appreciate the putting green has been closed for quite a period of time, but rest assured as soon as conditions allow we will be available for FREE putting custom fits to show how we can help improve your putting by both improvement in technique and/or a change to a putter to suit you. There has been lots of exposure about new irons and woods, but there are also some very exciting new putters to try so watch this space!

This is a great time to take a look at all your equipment. Both TJ and I have been busy doing both lessons and fittings. I fully appreciate that new models launched are always the "best ever" but it has to be said that the models just launched have proved fantastic during fittings using our GC2 launch monitor. I promise that you will be reading about success stories over the coming weeks and seeing results in competitions. You have been warned!

The Greenstaff have continued the fantastic work of clearing certain areas of the course and work on the path on the 1st is nearing completion. All the "new" bunkers have now got the sand in, so time to get some bunker practice in!

 

Ralph and I had a most enjoyable game on Tuesday with Peter Burnett and Alf Wiseman. The game was a close affair with Ralph and I 1 up after 9.

It was nearly an expensive day for drinks when my tee shot on the 11th struck the flag on the way down and nearly doing a slam dunk. Somehow it managed to stay out the hole and finish 6 feet short of the hole!! I know what you're now thinking but I did get the putt!! 

We managed to keep our noses in front and claimed victory on the 16th. Many thanks again gentlemen for your great company and a great game
