It's finally here. British summer is about to begin after an incredibly wet winter.... We hope...
The enthusiasm around the club is fantastic to feel, and will no doubt notch up another level when watching The Masters.
Seeing so many members play last weekend and throughout the week has been great, and we cannot pick the range balls up fast enough either. With the ground finally drying up somewhat, we are looking to do a final "unplugging" session next Thursday (31st) starting at 8.30am and finishing by 10am.
Once again any volunteers would be enormously appreciated. If you would like to help please bring a hoe, and wellies are recommended.
Members Draw
Many congratulations to Dr Peter Burnett on winning the membership draw.
This is a great draw where you can win your subs by buying a ticket.
Look out for details again next year.
Captain's Drive In
Last Sunday we had the Annual Captain's Drive in event. As always there was a great turn out to support the drive, as well as play in the event afterwards.
Very very well done to Ian and Carol as they hit absolute belters....
It is clear that they both love an audience with their drives measuring 207 & 168 yards.
We will try and gather a bus load every time you guys tee off this year.
Unfortunately I couldn't be there this year to watch as I had been invited by TaylorMade to play in the Ambassador Cup at Laranjal on Monday. There were 36 Ambassadors playing who had travelled from all over Europe to come and play in the event.
It was the most amazing experience, meeting some great guys, the course, hospitality and not to mention 2 nights at the superb hotel, The Conrad.
A combination of nerves, excitement, ridiculously fast greens and very good opposition ensured that my partner and I lost our match playing for team TaylorMade, but the overall result was a close affair with team adidas winning 5-4.
With many of you no doubt playing over the Bank Holiday weekend, make sure you allow time to take a look at some of our super offers we have.

In order to keep the cycle going we are staging some Get into Golf Taster days to hopefully encourage more to come and have a go at this great game and see what we have to offer with our Academy membership.
