After such a glorious Good Friday, Bank Holiday Monday was back to where we have been for weeks.... wet and closed!
At some point we will have a good spell of weather. Incredibly nearly 2" of rain has come down since Sunday, so no wonder we are struggling.
As detailed in last week's newsletter the range had been drying out so we appealed for volunteers to help "unplug" balls on Thursday. But as just mentioned the rain ensured this was a bit muddier than intended! Many, many thanks to Alan & Val Barrass and Kenneth Myers who came along to help on the day. Your help was very much appreciated.
During this incredibly wet winter, we have made every effort to keep the range open and that will always be the case. But we may introduce a height restriction on how high you can hit shots!!
Someone who has been using the driving range plenty is Julian Taylor and guess what ........practice helps. As you know Julian turned Professional, and this week saw him attend EuroPro Qualifying Stage 1 at Mottram Hall. I am absolutely delighted to report that Julian finished tied 5th after a superb 68 on the final day. Very well done Julian and keep up the good work.
With the wet conditions of late, the lift and place rule (or preferred lies as some know it ) has been extended. Click here for full details.
Also extended has been the knockout entries. Should all else fail and more rain prevents you coming to the club over the weekend, please mail or call if you would like us to put your name down.
This is your last chance to take advantage of our bag trade-in deal. We will give you £20 OFF selected bags when you trade in your old bag. This ends on Monday, so make sure you drop in over the weekend.
As one door closes, another opens and our battery trade-in deal has now started, whereby you will receive £25 for your old battery against a lithium battery which are lighter, last 5 x times longer and charge quicker, or a lithium battery Motocaddy trolley.

In addition to the battery trade-in, we have the shoe trade-in which is another fantastic offer. We have a great selection of Men's and Ladies shoes that you will receive £20 OFF when you trade in an old pair.
Bearing in mind we have the best selection of shoes in Yorkshire and prices to match, I am hoping to see lots of super shoes walking down our beautiful fairways this year!
