I hope you all enjoyed Easter - there were certainly plenty enjoying a game or two which was great to see! Even today with the rain pouring down we still have a busy course. I hardly dare say the rain was needed, and over the coming days we will see the benefit.
Many thanks to those of you who have donated unwanted golf balls for the range. As you will all see, the use of the range continues to grow, and it is fantastic to see so much activity out there. Both TJ and I are really enjoying the enthusiasm with everyone keen for lessons and club fittings. To help with offering more options, TJ has started to offer late night coaching. Here is what he has to say:
"Now the season is well underway and people are playing more and more, and there is a lot of demand for lessons, so I would like to open up some times on a Thursday evening for coaching. These times are available to anyone, but mainly aimed at people who work through the week and are unable to make it down to the golf course before a certain time.
I will now be on site on a Thursday evening until 8.00pm, meaning the last booking slot will be 7.30pm. I am looking at playing a lot through the year this year including the Open Qualifying, so there may be occasions that I have said I am unavailable for lessons, but you see me at the golf club either on the golf course or on the practice ground, I would like you all to understand this is not just me being selfish, I have blocked these times out to allow myself time to work on my own game in order to give myself the best chance of success in the events I am competing in."
TaylorMade Demo Day
With the superb results being achieved by TaylorMade with their new clubs and loft up technology, we are delighted to say we have TaylorMade here next sat (3rd) for a fitting day. Times available are from 10-3pm so click here to arrange a slot.
Don't forget that they even offer a 30 day money back guarantee on the drivers if you have not found those extra yards, so make sure you don't miss out!!
Hopefully by now you've all got yourself re-gripped as we start to enjoy those longer evenings out on the course. When Ben Hogan wrote "Good golf begins with a good grip," he was talking about where the hands go on the club. But he could just as well have been talking about the handle of the club itself.
Worn grips are one of those things that sneak up on you; and given they directly affect your control of the club, they can have a profound effect. It's not just that your hands are more likely to slip on a worn grip, especially in the rain; it's also that you'll sense this unconsciously, and start to grip the club tighter. That can get you into a whole host of nasty swing traits, usually involving loss of rhythm and power.
Like every other part of the game, grip technology has leapt forward. The latest grips we stock offer a range of textures, hand-specific patterns and moisture resistance. Regrip your clubs with us and we can guarantee you the best connection with the club possible. We can also ensure their thickness suits your hand size - a vital aspect of controlling the club, and one that needs an expert eye.
