"Nothing is certain but death and taxes"...

No doubt you have all heard that quote, but I would like to say nothing is as certain as our unbelievable weather.

As the pictures show there has been quite a change over the last few weeks, and can you believe the sprinklers had to be used on the greens these past few days?

   

This great (or normal) weather of late has been very welcome and long overdue, and has ensured it has been non-stop these past few days here at the club.


 

On Saturday the May Medal nearly reached the 200 entry number, but only 6 scored sub 70 scores with Steve Herridge producing the best score of the day with his nett 68. Very well done Steve.

Interestingly the CSS moved from 71 to 73. 

With many bunkers now in play again, and some new ones too I have had some feedback that this is the reason for not scoring too well. If this is the case please click here as we absolutely love bunker lessons. Often quoted as 'the most forgiving shot in golf', it is not until you have had a lesson you appreciate why this is said.


 

With a number of our greenstaff on holiday this week, our 'handiman' Tony Thompson has stepped in and taken a crash course in driving some of our machinery.

I'm pleased to say that after a gruelling probation period, the L plates have now been removed.

Our first Seniors Open was held on Monday with the event proving very popular. These days are great as there are some competitors returning to a course they know well along with some competitors playing the course for their first time. 

Whichever category the competitors belonged to, the feedback on the day was that the course was fantastic.
