It's been another busy and great week at the club with lots going on, so much so it's hard to believe a week has passed since the last newsletter...
With the summer holidays now in place there has been extra junior activity this week. Our Junior Open was held on Wednesday with many boys and girls competing from local clubs. Many congratulations to our very own James Kay winning the event and at the same time reducing his handicap to single figures, very well done James.
On Thursday the York Union junior team played against the Bradford union team. It was great playing host to so many gifted and polite young juniors who all thoroughly enjoyed their day.
In the squad of 12 we had 3 of our own junior members playing which is a great reflection on our juniors.
There were many close games and unfortunately the result went in Bradford's favour.
Continuing the news on our juniors, it was great see
Ted Hodgetts celebrate his 80th birthday on Wednesday.
It was even more special given the fact that Ted was seriously ill with pneumonia earlier in the year.
Many, many happy returns Ted

Along with TaylorMade, we are offering

This is an amazing offer and one to take advantage of.
Dave Spofforth was the first to take advantage of this offer, and as you can see, he was pretty pleased with his brand new
M2 woods.
Why not arrange a

Maybe not range news as such, but I have been asked to request that members using the putting green to chip onto do exactly that - low impact shots only.
Caught on camera this week we have a budding Phil Mickleson "flopping" shots onto the green...
Many thanks for your co-operation on this matter.
Many thanks to those who have signed up for our Golf Day on
Friday, 23 September. We promise this will be one of the events of the year with the most amazing range of prizes.
The format will be a team of 4, any combination of players (men/ladies), any 2 scores to count. Some teams entered so far have been all members, but others have used the event to invite friends, and others in business have invited customers/clients to join them. Whoever you make your team up with, I'm sure will enjoy their day.
As this has only just become available there are plenty of times available. To book please call in the pro shop or
The cost is
£25 per person which includes 3 golf balls each and a buffet after your game.
