Last Wednesday I was fortunate to be invited to London by TaylorMade to see their exciting new product range being launched at the end of January. All the other 44 Ambassadors from the UK and Europe also came and it was great to meet up for the first time since playing the Ambassador Cup together at Quinta back in March.
After having a superb meal at Wentworth during the evening we all got to see the fantastic new products along with presentations the following morning. As you would expect there was great excitement within the room.
Many of you will have seen that Rory McIlroy and other Nike players have been switching to TaylorMade since Nike announced they were pulling out of the equipment market. Last week's winner Thorbjorn Olesen was trying a complete full bag of TaylorMade clubs as he stormed to victory in Turkey.
The interesting thing is that all the products being tried and used (not to mention the fact that Dustin Johnson and Jason Day already use them) are the current ones. Anyone who saw the products has been sworn to secrecy and cannot talk about them yet.
Trust me they are great but there is some exciting news I can tell you about. A select few accounts will receive custom fitting samples mid December so customers can experience the new models and order them ready for the launch date of 27th January. This also means that the current fitting/demo clubs we have are all available at reduced prices to make way, so whether you are excited to try the new models or grab a bargain on a current club
click here to arrange your fitting.
Well winter certainly came with a vengeance this week with snow giving us the first course closure for a while on Wednesday. The early morning snow turned to rain and whilst having a look around the course it was great to see the current drainage work on the 18th starting to work already.
The latest winter tees have been completed and are now in play and many thanks to
Tony Thompson on a super job. Our programme to improve the "winter course" has really improved golf this time of year and Mike and his team have done a great job.
Many local clubs have adopted a "
Winter Wheels" policy for using trollies. Whilst we have not implemented this policy it is worth checking where you are playing if you need to use them. If members do use them here it would be appreciated as they do help reduce the wear electric trollies create.
If you would like a set of Winter Wheels we have just received a shipment from Motocaddy which we are offering at
£49.99 which is
£20 OFF the normal price.

Our Autumn /winter ranges of clothing have been proving hugely popular over the last week and I hope most of the purchases are worn rather than waiting for Christmas as I think they are needed..
Certainly the woolly hat sales soared and
Liz and
Emma were keen to model the Ladies pom-poms we have in store.
It has been great seeing quite a few members wearing the winter trousers that we have featured in last week's newsletters, but what was even better was hearing how good they are and how much those wearing them have enjoyed them.
We also have some great tops to wear too. Stock on the special offer York GC fleeces and lined sweaters is starting to run low. These are great products from Ashworth and nearly half price so great offer too
Club crested sweaters are a great gift idea and the new service we are offering in conjunction with Glenmuir is working well.
We have the full range of colour choices on display for both V and Crew neck options and samples of all sizes too. Each sweater has the "tonal" badge so you can see exactly how it works with each colour (the traditional full colour is available too).
You can try on your size and then choose your colour and badge and your order will arrive in 5 working days
Presentation Night Don't forget that tomorrow night (
Friday, 11 November) is presentation night which is always a great evening at the club.
With over 90% of winners using our services for lessons or fittings it's always our best advert of the year..
