Modernising Golf's Rules
Last week the R&A proposed some key changes to the Rules of Golf from 2019. Their Rules Modernisation initiative has been underway for a few years now and this is the next stage in that process. The aim is to not only make the Rules easier to understand, but also to address some of the game's current problems, such as speed of play, and ensure they fit the needs of today's game.
Please spare a couple of minutes to complete our survey, which gives you the chance to have your say on the proposed changes.
We've picked out some of the most significant Rules changes for you to digest in this survey, before giving you the chance to say whether you agree or disagree with each of them. It'll be great to know your thoughts.

TaylorMade Fitting Day
Despite heavy rain closing the course over the weekend, many members came to the club on Saturday to have a go on our TaylorMade Fitting Day.
It was great to see so much interest from both men and ladies in all their products - Drivers, fairways, rescues, wedges and putters.
Recent product launches from TaylorMade, PING and Titleist have all proved to be popular and it only takes a fitting to discover why. With great advances in technology and more options for fitting why not book a fitting to see how you can benefit too.

One of the jobs carried out over the past few days has been the removal of the rhododendron bush just in front of the 5th tee. Amazingly 162 balls were removed from there including…2 Titleist ProV1 with Scratch Team on!
To tackle the issue of standing water on both the 1st and 8th fairways the greenstaff have slit both fairways. Further work when conditions are suitable will also be done over the coming weeks to break down the thatch build up, which in turn will help water reach the existing drainage.
The final of the Stephenson Trophy was played this week between Vanessa Hart and Ronnie Davison and after a great game the spoils went to Vanessa.
Many congratulations to Vanessa and hard luck to Ronnie.

It's still like Christmas every day here in the ProShop with deliveries coming in.
The incredibly comfortable FootJoy Pro/SL and Contour spikeless shoes have arrived in addition to:
For those who were watching the World Championship event in Mexico over last weekend it was impossible not to notice how many spiders there were...no not the 8 legged variety but the putter from TaylorMade.
Watching Jason Day over the last couple of years you will have noticed that he used one, but it is fair to say that since Dustin Johnson has switched to one he has holed more putts and become World Number 1 too!
In addition to these two players, many more are using them and guess what …we have them in stock but they are genuinely in short supply and might run away soon!
Come into store to try them out.
Last Friday Ian and I played our latest Capt/Pro match against John Enos and Peter Renton. We had a wonderful game which was a close affair all the way round. A 2nd shot to a gimmie on the 12th by John was followed by a superb chip in by Ian on the 13th, meant it was all getting interesting, but on the 17th we had slipped to dormy two down. A birdie on 17 kept the game alive, followed by Ian's good use of his shot on the 18th meant we salvaged a half.
Thanks again guys for a most enjoyable game.
Unfortunately Pete couldn't keep still for the photo - I think he was too excited seeing more deliveries arriving!!
