The heavy rain yesterday may have temporarily closed the course but it has not dampened enthusiasm! Our weather has been a far cry from what the players on the USPGA tour enjoyed last weekend although on the positive side we don't have alligators sunbathing!

Nearly 200 competitors took part in the York Union Cross Trophy last Sunday and the feedback received regarding the course and facilities was absolutely fantastic.
Well done to all York members playing with Steve Simpson and Mike Bridge leading the York scores with their 63.
Work continues on the greens this week, including the putting green.
The scarifying of fairways has also started although Wednesdays rainfall has stopped further work taking place.
Many thanks to members who have kindly donated balls over the past few weeks, as these donations help enormously. The range itself is still incredibly wet and whilst trying to keep the range open as much as possible we are desperately trying to retrieve as many plugged balls as we can before the ground dries and the grass grows over them.
Please note that the range will be closed all day next Thursday, 30 March. Any members wishing to come down and help 'unplugging' are more than welcome to come along anytime before 2pm (wellies and hoe essential!)

Building on the great success of our Ladies Academy we held our latest 'Get into Golf' session on Tuesday which went very well. We have our next session scheduled for Saturday, 8 April from 11.30am-12.30pm.
The session is open to any Lady whether they have had little or no experience of golf. All equipment is provided.
