On Saturday, we proudly hosted the Inter-Counties match between Yorkshire and Northumberland. It was great to see members come to spectate and enjoy watching some great golf. 

The match itself consisted of 6 foursomes matches in the morning followed by 12 singles matches in the afternoon with the result going in Yorkshires favour by just one point.


 

During the very dry period of dry weather we kept saying to members be careful wishing for rain here at Strensall!

The rain has certainly come vigorously this week but the course has coped fantastically with no disruption to play at all. Many thanks to our Greenkeeping team for some great work in presenting the course so well for to enjoy. 

 

As we approach mid-June it really is time to take a good look at how your season is going so far?

• Has your handicap increased?
• Do you feel there is a weak area in your game?
• Have you lost distance?
• Are you suddenly hitting longer clubs into greens?
• How many putts are you taking per round?
• How many fairways are you hitting per round?

With the wind and rain this week it has been tough going for competitors this week. On Tuesday, the Ladies competed in the Hindmarsh trophy. The CSS increased to 76 on the day showing how tough conditions were. Many congratulations to Phillipa Ashley winning with her score of 76.

Conditions remained tough for the 91 competitors who played in the Mid-week Medal on Wednesday. Only 3 competitors managed to score sub 70 with the CSS increasing to 73.

Many congratulations to Stephen Andrew on winning with his superb score of nett 64.

The Ladies B Team have kept their 100% winning form going with victory at home against Scarcroft. Good luck in the remaining 2 games ladies.

The scratch team have also kept their 100% form going with their win away at Garforth. Very well done to all ladies involved …no pressure on the A team Ladies!
