FootJoy Shoe Fitting Day

Next Saturday we will be offering a new fitting experience. Rather than clubs, we are offering a shoe fitting day in conjunction with the markets number one selling brand FootJoy.

Staggeringly FootJoy claim that 70% of golfers are wearing the wrong size golf shoes. The event will take place in the lounge and the representative from FootJoy will have every size of shoe available to try. From the smallest ladies to the largest men's in all the various width fittings.

James Hare recently had one of these days at Richmond Golf Club and said it was a fantastic success. His members really engaged, having their feet measured and then trying the correct fit. Lots and lots were staggered at how getting the exact fit made the shoes feel even more comfortable.

The event starts at 10am next Sat (26th) and runs through till 3pm with 20 minute appointments. Time slots are 20 minutes and with having a competition on that day it is ideal to try either before or after your game.

Last Friday the Gents Open was a fantastic success with a full field. It was wonderful seeing so many people having a great day with lots playing our course for the first time. Many competitors called in to the Pro Shop after their round raving about how superb the course was!!

With our new caterers getting off to a superb start and the food being the "best it's been for years" exciting times are ahead for our great club.

The invitation day on Saturday was another "showcase" day for our club and all went very well. This is my 7th year doing the Invitations and we had a new "course record". Andy & Richard Barrass along with their guests Adrian Lount and Matthew Dobson scored an incredible 96 points in the 2 best from 4 scoring. Congratulations guys on a fantastic score!

There was another superb score in the midweek Stableford on Wednesday. Despite only taking up the game in February Jamie Varley has been "hooked". His score of 49 points was fantastic and was obviously good enough to claim top spot! This score was well deserved but no surprise to us as he has combined plenty of practice with lessons from TJ!!

Hot scoring from ladies also on Tuesday. A superb score from Carol Botterill of 68 gave her a well deserved win, although only just! Very well also to Joy Hunter also scoring 68.

Ladies Coaching

The Ladies coaching sessions with TJ are going really well so far, with some great improvements being made by all of the Ladies!
