Despite the nights starting to "pull in" it's still all systems go at the club with members and visitors alike all keen to play and enjoy our course as often as possible!
There is a constant flow of compliments from golfers coming off the course, with one of the most recent from a gentleman who was a member of one of the well-known courses in Leeds who called in the shop after his game to say he had played many of the fantastic courses we have in Yorkshire this year, and our greens were the best!!!
High praise indeed and well deserved for Mike and his team.
Just a quick request, the Golf Trade Show is coming up in October, and I am keen to find you what products you want to see in your Pro Shop for next year. Please click here to get in touch to let me know your thoughts, and please click here to take a short survey which will provide me with some great info. It will be greatly appreciated!
With the good weather set to continue make sure you call in to see our fantastic offers available in our Summer Sale.
Half Price Ashworth shirts at only £19.99 are not surprisingly proving very popular!!
Special Shoe SALE
Also popular are the numerous offers we have on our shoe wall for both men and ladies. With over 150 pairs of shoes I'm sure there will be something to tempt everyone!
Top of the Pops on the shoe sale so far are:
FootJoy Sport Spikeless in Blue £59.99
Ladies Lo Pro Casual Spikeless in Pink £59.99
Nike Lunar Saddle in White £39.99.
In addition to our Summer Sale causing excitement there is also quite a buzz regarding the new PING G30 range which was recently launched.
Not only is the performance fantastic, but the range is far greater. Proving popular is the SF driver which is targeted to help the golfer who hits a left to right shape off the tee.

Top of the news list (if you've not heard already!) is Steve achieved the incredibly rare feat of scoring an Albatross on the 3rd hole last Friday. After a great drive was followed by a super 4 iron to complete the hole. Very, very well done Wilks!!!
Another super shot was played by Martin Ashley last week whilst playing with his recently fitted TaylorMade SpeedBlade irons. His 6 iron on the 17th went straight in the hole!! (I cannot guarantee that a new set of custom irons will do this for everyone!) . This was just a couple of weeks after Martin's wife Phillipa also scored a hole in one! Very well done guys

Mike and I are eager to get going with our Capt/Pro challenge matches over the coming weeks. These are always great fun to play, and this year's prize for whichever pair beats us by the most (or optimistically loses by the least) is a day out at PING's headquarters to take a behind the scenes tour , have a fitting and a game of golf at the Lakes course.

Bank Holiday Centenary Cup
Congratulations to Bernie Carter winning the Centenary Cup on Bank Holiday Monday with a super score of 45 points! Hard luck (but still well done) to Dave Valentine who also produced a great score of 43 points which would usually have been good enough to win!!
There were also super scores from the Ladies with Christine Barber winning on count back from Jill Irwin with 40 points. Very well done Ladies.
Continuing with Ladies comp news, the next 2 competitions were dominated by the in form mother & daughter combination of Liz and Emma Audsley. After winning the Mary White Challenge Bowl (with Mum finishing 2nd), Emma partnered her Mum this Tuesday to win the Wilkinson Coasters! Fantastic you two, well done and it's time for Neil and Nick to pull their socks up or they might get some friendly stick at presentation night!
The Top Rabbit was played on Saturday and congratulations go to Ron Pearson on winning with his score of 37 points.
Quiz question - what is the link between all the winners named??
Our juniors played their latest match against Scartingwell and had a great result winning 2 1/2 to 1/2. Very well done Emma, James and Nick. Good luck with remaining 2 matches.
