This week has been a busy one as we have all been attending the Golf Show at Harrogate. As always it was great to meet colleagues along with seeing next year's exciting new products.
Technology never moves backwards and there was plenty of evidence of that fact. adidas have used some amazing technology in their golf shoes which has been taken from their running shoes, and to encourage visitors to experience it they sized you up and invited you to have a stint on the treadmill and in return they donated £5 per person to cancer research.
As you know TJ and Steve love their fitness, whilst my experience of running is usually running a bath! I assure I did it as well, but as I took their pictures without them realising I had to concentrate on the running and didn't feel confident to take a "selfie" at the same time!!!
Other exciting products to look out for:
Motocaddy remote control trolley (mar 2015)
TaylorMade iron (3weeks time!)
As mentioned in last week's newsletter I had been nominated in the Pro of the Year category, and many thanks to the many who wished me luck. Unfortunately I couldn't lift the title but take great pride in being one of the 4 nominees out of the 1000 pro's at Foremost.
There were also seminars for us to attend with the highlight being yesterday's one with the renowned short game guru Dave Pelz.
Hard to believe but we are all even more energised to get back to what we love doing and make sure your game and time at York GC is fantastic!
It has been great to hear how positive everyone is about the superb work going on with the course developments. Now the contractors have finished and our guys have progressed with the laying of the turf it is all taking shape very nicely.
Many thanks to everyone who filled in our customer survey. The information given has been incredibly helpful to us and will help ensure we cater for your needs in the months ahead. Nationally 20000 golfers responded and the winner of the golf break will be announced soon, but 2 of our respondents have been drawn to win the prizes we had on offer for our readers.
Congratulations to John Donaldson winning the MacGregor bag and Jamie Varley winning the dozen Srixon balls.
