Greetings from Mark Rogers
The York Golf Club - Nominated Foremost Pro of the Year 2012 & 2013

The nights may be pulling in but it has not dampened the enthusiasm around here!! September was an amazing month for the club with lots of members playing and a record month for green fees also, and there are no signs of any slowing down!

All of this continues to show what great momentum is within the club as we approach our 125th Anniversary year in 2015. The excitement regarding the first phase of the Course Development Plan is tremendous with positive comments coming in all the time. What is also interesting is how complimentary our visitors are about the changes!

TaylorMade RSi iron launch

Today sees the global launch of information about the eagerly anticipated TaylorMade RSi range of irons.

We have been lucky enough to have a sneak peak of these and they look superb. As you all know looks play a part, but it is also about the performance of the product. This is where it gets exciting as these irons have a completely new concept in their design.

Here are some links to click to get a flavour of what I'm talking about

Now I bet you are curious to try them? The good news is there will be men's right and left hand and ladies clubs so we can cater for everyone. As we are the leading stockist and custom fit centre for TaylorMade in the area, the even better news is that we are giving you the opportunity to try these amazing clubs before they are launched in the UK.

On Saturday, 8 November we are staging the Mis-hit challenge so you can see and experience for yourself the difference these clubs will make to your game.

Times are available from 9.30am so to book your time come and see us in the Pro Shop or click here.

More shop news..........

Yesterday we mailed everybody a voucher to claim £20 OFF any Ashworth sweater in stock including crested ones. If you missed it you can click here.

This is an incredible offer and ends on Sunday night so don't miss out!

Congratulations to Neil Ferguson winning the Club Championship against Danny Saunders. They had a fantastic game with Neil keen to win the title in his first year as a member and Danny keen to defend his title before moving away to his new posting.

The MacDonald foursomes was played on Saturday and Neil Crapper along with Chris Moss won emphatically with their great score of nett 65. Very well done guys!!!

On Tuesday the Ladies competed in the Lady Captains Charity event. Congratulations to the winning team of Joy Hunter, Delia Bailey, Elise Mackinlay and Elaine Hulley with their score of 86 points.

In addition to our usual one-to-one sessions available, TJ has some news of some short game group sessions coming up:

The short game clinic is an opportunity for people of all abilities to get a true idea of what to concentrate their practice time on. It is a series of 15 skills test to identify each individual's top 5 weaknesses.

I then split the group into everyone's individual weaknesses and give help and instruction on the skill you are weakest at. After working on the specific skill you are guaranteed to see an improvement in both technique and skill level. It is an amazing opportunity so please book soon as places are filling up fast.

The Ladies clinic is on Thursday, 30 October and the gents is on Sunday, 9 November.

Click here to request your space.

For those sceptics who did not believe me when I said I also ventured on the treadmill in aid of charity at Harrogate last week, it appears TJ took a sneaky picture of me!!!

As you will see I was going so fast the picture is a blur, and according to Sky Sports News Usain Bolt has started putting in extra training hours having heard about my exploits!!!!
