York against Cancer After the fantastic York against Cancer day last Thursday the Gents invitation on Saturday ensured there was no let-up inactivity here at the club. Over 200 played in super conditions and both members and guests had a great time. The score to beat was set early in the day when Jimmy Elvidge and Frankie Curran returned an incredible 92 points with their guests and it’s no surprise to hear that no team could beat this incredible score. As well as great scoring there was also an incredible amount of twos achieved during the day so be warned that in future the pins will be less accessible in future events! For full results click here
York Union Ladies Championship Sunday was busy at the club but some of our Ladies were busy also playing at Easingwold in the York Union Ladies Championship. In the Gross event, Sonia Simpson finished 4th with Gay Enos 5th and Mabes Embleton 6th and then in the nett Mabes was runner up, Emma Kilvington 3rd and Gay 4th so a fantastic result by our Ladies and well done all.
Batley and Medal competition On Tuesday there was a fantastic entry for the Batley and Medal competition. The criteria for the Batley Trophy was age-related and Luke managed to handle this well (I think!) whilst dealing with the entries and it was fantastic to see Miranda Stephenson claim a well-deserved victory in the event with her great score of 68. |
