I hope you are managing to stay safe and well, during whatis an unprecedented world-wide situation. It is clear that this could take longer than three weeks andwhilst we are all undoubtedly missing our golf, the priority is for us all to followthe advice on how to stay safe, healthy, and at home, in order to come out of this together. The current situation will be affecting us all in differentways and the Chairman’s message sent out this week highlights the need for acollective team effort for OUR club to remain strong and still be the greatclub to return to and enjoy. It is not only themembers that enjoy their time at the club, but it is also a great place to workfor all the staff too. Thankfully, at the start the weather has been great and nodoubt there are now a lot of immaculate gardens! I am also sure that as theweather takes a turn for the worse there will be a lot of indoor DIY projects tostart too! We are seeing a lot of people on social media makingmakeshift nets in their gardens (we have made one too with a washing line andsome dust sheets), which is a great way to keep swinging while in isolation. Asa way of interacting with all our members, I am offering a FREE online reviewand mini lesson if you submit a video of your swing to our shop email address mark.rogers@foremostgolf.com Hopefully this will keep people engaged during this time andhelp give you something to work on or think about so that you’re ready for whenour golf club opens again! It is also an ideal time to practice your putting too. Oneof the biggest problems we come across during putting lessons is how earlyplayers look to see the ball rolling and as a result there is too much movementwith the top half of the body too. A great tip topractice without any need for training aids is to hit putts of any length andsee if you can see the spot where the ball was before looking up to see theball rolling. There are lots of different styles for putting when watchingthe worlds best and a link between them all is how still their head remainsduring the stroke.Over the coming weeks. I will keep in touch with you and inthe meantime stay safe and keep practicing.
