January Blues? No such thing here!

A combination of our vibrant membership and your Pro shop having everything needed to keep you playing in comfort has ensured there has been lots of activity on both the course and the range.

With the daylight hours increasing and snowdrops starting to appear you can feel the season is fast approaching and now is the time to start getting your game in shape ready for this exciting year ahead.

Improving your game can be a combination of improving your technique as well as making sure you are getting the best from your equipment. Are you clubs set up correctly? Were they custom fit? Will the new generation of equipment help you more?

Our first TaylorMade R15 driver out the door on launch day was for Jeremy Taylor who not only gained accuracy but also another average of just over 20 yards!

Our Green staff have been very busy with various projects on the course getting ready for the year ahead. These include:

- Continued drainage works on the 18th and 6th.

- New tee constructed on the 5th (click here to arrange a FREE fit to hit longer and straighter drives)

- Removal of surplus/dead/obstructive trees

- Construction of new tee on 5th

- The grass tee on the practice ground has been roped off in preparation for the spring, and if everyone using the range can hit shots from either the range or the all-weather tee ONLY over the coming weeks it would be greatly appreciated.

   

Our latest match last Friday was against the formidable pairing of Alan Walmsley and Phil Little. This was also good physical test as it was blowing a hooley!

After sinking 3 tremendous putts over the opening 3 holes to set up a 2 hole advantage, the remaining holes proved a tight affair before we eventually shook hands on the 17th for a 2 & 1 defeat.

As with all these matches we had a great time and many thanks again gentlemen for your great company.

The next few weeks are always an exciting time in the Pro Shop as deliveries keep coming.......

Our latest deliveries have included the fantastic new additions to the FootJoy range of shoes for both Men and Ladies. Whilst we have a great selection of shoes for "now", if you are lucky enough to be venturing abroad soon, make sure you call in to see some awesome new lightweight and extremely comfortable shoes.
