Greetings from Mark Rogers
The York Golf Club - Nominated Foremost Pro of the Year 2012 & 2013

Have a club re-gripped FREE

Yes that's correct.........we are offering to re-grip your 7 iron absolutely FREE. We will also make sure we fit the grip and size to suit your needs too.

Before you think it, there is no catch! As we have said in earlier newsletters we want to make this your best year ever and there are many ways in which we can help do this.

Quite often we see golfers playing with badly worn grips and because of this we have been working with our grip suppliers to offer this fantastic deal to show what a difference new grips will make. Be sure to call in the Pro Shop soon to select your new grip, and where possible we will fit it "while-u-wait".

Whilst the grip can make a huge difference, so too can two other variables:

1 - The way you hold it and swing it! And,
2 - What club it actually is!

One of the most common quotes we hear after a first lesson is "I wished I had done this ages ago". I like to think this reflects on our simple but effective way we conduct our lessons. We promise that you will not get overloaded with swing thoughts! Ironing out what causes bad moves in a golf swing is a much better way to start to improve your swing. As an example never under estimate the importance of a "sound" set-up.

Which of these two set-ups do you think produced a better swing?

As mentioned earlier the clubs you use can make a HUGE difference. Every year new "best ever" models are launched and let's be honest - technology does not go backwards! There has been tremendous advances in the design of clubs over the years to make shots go further, but the latest clubs to be released are incredibly forgiving also (woods/irons/hybrids).

Achieving greater ball speed when not hitting the "sweet spot" is always going to help. Click here to take a look at a cracking video showing you a robot testing the brand new RSi irons from TaylorMade...

This is a very exciting time of the year as the new stock keeps pilling in to your Pro Shop. The Motocaddy store is full of their latest ranges and their new waterproof bag looks fantastic, although I am not wishing for rain!!

Our decision to add the Titleist range of clubs along with Vokey wedges has been well received and our fitting clubs have now arrived also.

Click here to find out more about the great new Vokey range.

Ashworth's 2015 range of spikeless shoes have also arrived. These were our best selling shoes last year and without exception everyone who bought some absolutely loved them! Come and try some on!

Well done Dave Spofforth and Neil Ferguson finishing 2nd when we hosted the Alliance on Wednesday. They produced a great score of 63 so it was good to see them continue their good form after beating us in the Capt/Pro match last week!!

Our drive to recruit more Ladies starts next month with our "Get-into-Golf" Taster sessions. I am sure many of you will have friends/family or partners who may fancy having a go of this great game.

And finally:

There has been quite a few people asking how to find the video of me trying a prototype wedge.
