Has there really been 7 days since our last newsletter?!
The first tee has seen a constant flow of traffic, the range ball machine keeps doing an Oliver Twist and asking for more, and our shoe display is having more trade ins than Reg Vardy !!!
All great fun, and further re-enforcement that York Golf Club is buzzing and the clocks have not changed yet!
On Saturday we had our latest "Get into Golf " ladies session with 14 ladies having a go. We all had a great time with lots of laughs, and lots of good shots also! Both TJ and I are really looking forward to the season ahead with our academy sessions as we try to get more ladies to play this "wonderful" game. If you were unable to attend our sessions and would like further information about joining our groups and getting into golf, please click here to get in touch.
There was a great turnout for the Captains drive in event on Sunday. Both Mike and Marion were very relaxed about "their performance" beforehand, and they both made great swings with their combined drives totalling 384 yards!
Very very well done, and the great applause was richly deserved. Winning the prize for guessing how far would be driven was Elise MacKinlay who correctly predicted 384 yards. Please tell me this weeks lottery numbers Elise!!!!!
As for the Mixed event that followed the drive in, Andy Carter and Carol Botterill produced a great score of 41 points to win the event.

As well as golfing activity, lately our wonderful volunteers have been busy again "sprucing" areas up. So far the range has been freshened up, and the all weather tee is next on the agenda. Many thanks gentlemen for your efforts which are fully appreciated. Unfortunately I never took the picture before Bryan Hunter dashed off!
Our Greenstaff have also been hard at it on the practice area. You will notice that the grass tee has been closed until further notice, and Mick has asked for shots on the range to be hit from the all weather tee ONLY over the coming days.
Early preparations have taken place for the par 3 course with the new tees out. All very exciting!
Range ball collections for the foreseeable future are as follows:
Monday until 10am
Thursday until 10am
Friday 3-4pm Sat 3-4pm
