The feast of summer sport continues this week with the favourite event for many of us...... The Open Championship. I'm sure the excitement on Sunday will rival last Sunday's Wimbledon final (although the tie break in the second set was something else!!!)
As I'm writing this I have just enjoyed a fantastic day at St Andrews with my Dad and son James, and at 10.30pm have just de-frosted from the cold Fife breeze!!!!
I gather at York it's been a glorious sunny day, and whilst we have 3D televisions now, I'm sure they will never have the technology to really bring home to viewers what conditions are like on the Scottish coast!
After a benign start to the day in which early starters took advantage of the conditions, the wind steadily picked up as the temperature dropped and the course showed its defences.
There has been many highlights from today such as watching the likes of Tom Watson and other past champions proving just how good they are after many years at the top flight level. At the other end of the scale watching Jordan Spieth was just as impressive!
There was also something happen which I never thought I would witness - whilst sat on a grandstand, a huge amount of people decided to leave and move on just as Tiger Woods was approaching the green and tee that the stand looked over.
It would be a brave man to bet against Jordan Spieth lifting the title, but I'm confident that Adam Scott could be there challenging on Sunday.
We must have some of the best dressed members in the county judging from the popularity of our shirt amnesty!!
The countdown clock is ticking as this popular offer is due to finish soon so don't delay.
Remember, we will give you £10 OFF any shirt in stock when you trade in any old shirt.

We are blessed with seeing some superb nature on our golf course, and this week some of you may have seen the Pink Panther out and about! Having grown up near the pink panthers birthplace (Durham) and having fond memories of watching the adventures of the Pink Panther I don't recall seeing him brandishing a Bubba Watson driver on our golf course!??
Last week we welcomed Jonathon Gaunt on his latest visit to our club as he surveyed the work carried out, as well as talking about preparations for the next phase in September.
He was incredibly complimentary about how he has kept seeing continual improvements with the course condition and presentation since he started visiting, but then you all already know this!!
