Hello golfers, 

What a start to the week . Soooo much rain came down on Monday night / early Tuesday morning we had our first course closure for a long time. Thank goodness for our range on Tuesday

It was incredible looking around the course on Tuesday as there was more water visible than grass ! The fact the course was open the next day and over 100 competed in the Mid-Week Stableford (and a visitors were also able to play too) just shows how far we have come over the last 5 years .

Some of you may have seen our mushroom expert Mal Greaves aka "Mushroom Mal " out and about this week. Not quite little red riding hood with the basket but not a bad yield nevertheless!! 

If you like your mushrooms and fancy a try please be extra careful as, joking apart, there are plenty out there that look nice but are not edible and whilst we offer a very extensive range of products in our Proshop we have no plans to add magic mushrooms to our range either!

Drainage work along with routine work such as hollow coring and verti-draining for example is paying massive dividends i.e. you all enjoy playing our super course more often! 

There is never an ideal time for this work and the latest work will be carried out over the weeks ahead and I'm sure everyone will appreciate disruption will be kept to a minimum by our Greens Team as they do the work in conjunction with the exciting next phase of the Course Development Plan. This week has also seen work start on the new winter tees which will greatly enhance playing "winter " golf. The first phase will see the following work carried out...

This week has been busy with deliveries to make sure we can kit you out to play in comfort over the weeks ahead. TaylorMade M1 Hype

As always there is lots of hype around new product launches and I'm sure you will not have missed the news that TaylorMade are launching their new M1 range very soon. Using a mix of carbon and titanium & steel these are very interesting products indeed. We will be one of the first fitting centres in the country to receive our fitting clubs so as soon as confirmation is received we will let you know when we can start offering fittings.
