Last week's Golf Trade Show at Harrogate is always a great week to attend, but this year will be remembered as a special year. 

On the Wednesday night Industry awards ceremony. I won the coveted Foremost Professional of the Year award. 

As you can imagine this meant a lot to me but has been made possible with the help and support of my great family and staff, along with working here at our great club with its great membership.

As for show itself, not only was is great to see all the companies exhibiting, but it was also good to see and catch up with many other Professionals during the 3 days. There were also seminars covering a variety of subjects with the main one of the week on the final day being presented by the highly distinguished coaches; Martin Hall & Dr Greg Rose who had both come over from America for the event.

     

So.....be warned that I have learnt some super new drills for lessons!!


 

The second phase of the Course Development Plan is well and truly underway! What an amazing difference can be seen already, and it's great to hear such positivity from members regarding the work being carried out. 

      

Keep an eye out for details in the New Year newsletters regarding some bunker clinics TJ and I will be offering!!

Many thanks also to those of you who have been using the divot bags since their introduction. This has been a great success and has really helped our Greens staff and course helpers with them being so busy with the huge amount of work going on.

Hole in one

Many congratulations to Elaine Hulley on achieving a hole-in-one on Sunday on the 7th Hole. 

Very well done Elaine, although I gather it was only good enough to halve the hole and Trevor Bailey had a 2 nett 1 in your match!




 

TaylorMade Demo Event

If you have missed the news that TaylorMade have launched an amazing new range called the M1 you must have been hidden somewhere in a cave. TaylorMade will be devastated to hear the marketing has failed! Admittedly there will always be lots of hype on any new product launch, but this has indeed got off to a great start on Tour and on early fittings we have given here at York. 

We have a TaylorMade fitting day on Friday, 23 October from 12-3.30pm so why not book a slot and try these products.
