Daylight may be reducing but there is no let up with activity around here!
On Sunday we hosted the Cross Trophy event with players from all around the York Union coming to play. What was very obvious during the day was that it's not just our members who are enjoying all the work we are doing at the club. Throughout the day feedback from competitors was fantastic regarding both the condition of the course and also about the Course Development work being carried out.
The better ball scoring format provided some rather "hot" scoring with a pairing from Kirby Moorside winning with a 58 nett (they must have liked the flatter terrain!) Incredibly there were 2 hole-in-ones achieved during the day. Both on the 2nd and both players using their 8 irons!
The four seasons are supposed to spread over the year but it feels like we have had all four this last week. No matter what weather we have you can rest assure that we can cater for all your requirements to keep you playing in comfort!
Over the last week here are some examples of whats been popular:
This time of the year is often used to reflect upon how your season has been. Every year we proudly mention that the vast majority of winners at prize presentation evening have used our services for lessons and/or fittings throughout the year, and this year is no different to previous ones.
How has your season been then? Over the past few days both TJ and I have done fittings for members who felt they wanted to try different clubs having seen their playing partner's games improve from changing theirs. Suffice to say we were able to help and find some improvement in results.
Remember we offer a
FREE fitting service using the fantastic GC2 launch monitor.

In addition to some fittings, we have also seen some new faces to our lesson line up and yet again that great quote could be heard afterwards "
I wish I had done this sooner".
It's never too late so

Many thanks for the responses to our Capt/Pro challenge matches. When
Ralph and
Elaine return from carnivalling in Brazil we will be posting more dates.
As a "pre season/ warm up" match, Ralph and I played 5 holes with
Alan and
Jean McTeer last Friday and had a most wonderful time.
It's staggering to believe Alan is 90, and being a gentleman forbids me from mentioning Jean's age but what an absolute inspiration and wonderful people they both are.
We had a great time and it was wonderful to listen to their tales, hearing how Alan took up the game after the war and how Jean took up the game when she was 50 as Alan started playing again after recovering from a heart attack. Thank you again Alan and Jean (and Ralph!)
